Commute Podcast 300 Words

I honestly was having a hard time trying to decide how I was going to approach this project. I didn’t know which one of my commutes to focus on. I have my commute from my bed to my class, I have my commute from class straight to work when I work closing shifts, I have my commute from my bed to my car when I work opening shifts and lastly I have my commute from Massachusetts to the University of New England. Ultimately I decided to focus on the commute from my bed to my car. At first I thought I was going to narrate and then put the sounds to describe what I was doing/feeling throughout all the sounds but when it came time to edit I decided that I liked the sounds alone with no narration. It also worked out better with the time constraints of this project. While collecting the sounds I had a hard time deciding what sounds I should include and exclude. I had so many more sounds recorded than what I actually had time for in the podcast so I had to just pick the most important ones. I kind of used a script when I was collecting the audio. I had all the sounds I wanted written down and in what order I wanted them in so I guess it was more like guidelines than a script. It went something like this 1.) Wake up (Alarm, yawn) 2.)Get up brush teeth (sound of facet and brushing) 3.)Go to the bathroom (sound of toilet) 4.) Make coffee (sound of coffee machine, taking a sip) 5.)Check emails (sound of email coming through and typing on the keyboard) 6.) Get dressed (zipper of coat) 7.) Walk to car (jingle of keys and the sound of my coat rubbing together, rain/wind) 8.)Turn on car (sounds of driving).
