My Course Description:

Introduction to Communications is an entertaining and meaningful class that I believe everyone should have to take in college. Everyone always stresses the importance of communication but not enough time is spent really thinking about it as it is something that comes so naturally to us human beings. In the class students will examine articles and the Communication in everyday life textbook and then go on to answer a series of journaling prompts that make the class reflect back on the readings. Some of the topics in the readings that are highlighted in the course are the history of communication as an academic discipline, communication as identity and relationship construction, nonverbal communication and listening, communication media and technology, and communication in a variety of interpersonal, familial, group, and workplace settings. Which then led over to the in class discussion of those topics. The in-class discussions were my favorite part of this class because it was easy to get involved in the discussion when you’re talking about the different aspects of Communication, at least for me. Maybe I am a little bias though because Communications is my major
