Outcome #6

(Sentence-Level Error) – Control sentence-level error (grammar, punctuation, spelling)

During my time here I have made many spelling, grammar and punctuation errors as I’m sure we all have. But I definitely think these mistakes were most prevalent in my rough drafts for my essays. For all of them I felt in such a rush to have something that was presentable for peer review and that would stress me out so much that I would just rush through my work so that I could have close to the page count we were supposed to have. I let the quality of the work go out the window in the rough drafts and thats pretty clear. When I went back a read my rough draft for essay #3 I couldn’t believe how many simple mistakes I had made on it. Peer review definitely helped me with all of these small mistakes. Going back and changing all of the small mistakes that Mr.Brod had pointed out was essential when revising for the final drafts.

Below is an example In my rough draft go my 3rd essay where I made a lot of simple mistakes

In this passage there are a lot of punctuation issues and multiple places where it sounds choppy and doesn’t make sense. After reviewing the comments made by Mr Brod this is how I revised the paragraph.

In the second and revised paragraph you can tell that my thoughts are much clearer and well thought out I bring up specifics to back up my points and add in textual evidence with a introduction and transition. It is also evident that I cleaned up all of the capitalization and grammar errors in the second version. Overall I think I have gotten better at revising these surface level errors as well as big picture ones.
